The National Electoral Commission of the DR Congo has announced that on June 20, it will send out invitations for international election observers.
It is critical that [INSERT COUNTRY] accepts this invitation and sends an Election Observation team to ensure that the November presidential and parliamentary elections in the Democratic Republic of the Congo are free and fair.
Free and fair elections will not guarantee peace and will not stop the rape, gang rape, and re-rape that is so widespread in this troubled country. But if the November elections are not internationally acclaimed as free and fair, there is a very real risk that the current conflict will explode out of control.
I urge you to use all means available to you to convince the Government of [COUNTRY INSERTED] to accept the invitation to send an official Election Observation team.
